Selection Process

The selection for RRC SECR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is purely merit-based and consists of the following stages:

1. Merit List Preparation:
   • Selection will be based on the average of percentage marks obtained in Matriculation (10th) [with minimum 50% aggregate] and ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.
   • Formula: (Matriculation Percentage + ITI Percentage) ÷ 2
   • This is strictly as per Railway Establishment Rule 201/2017
2. Document Verification:
   • Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original testimonials.
   • Candidates claiming OBC reservation must produce a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (not older than one year from the closure date of this notification).
   • EWS and PwBD certificates must be in the prescribed format.
3. Medical Examination:
   • Candidates must bring a medical certificate signed by a Government Authorized Doctor (GAZ), not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital.

Important Notes:

• No written examination or interview will be conducted.
• Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination or whose results are awaited are NOT eligible to apply.

Training & Stipend

• Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 1 year.
• Stipend will be paid as per the rules of the Railway Board during the training period.
• Training will be terminated after the completion of the apprenticeship.
• Note: It is not obligatory on the part of the employer to offer any employment to any apprentice after completion of training.
